Residency Requirements

Boundaries play an important role within the Little League program by helping to maintain parity and ensuring that Little League remains a community based program. All participants at every level in a local league must either reside or attend school within the boundary of the league.

*Please note that our Softball Program has different boundaries than our Baseball Program.  If Burbank American shows as your league for softball, you will play at Burbank National.

To confirm you live -OR- attend school within our boundaries, you can enter your home or school address into the Little League League Finder.

If you have multiple children that attend different schools, only one of your child's school must be in our boundaries.  All siblings will be eligible to play at Burbank National.  Also, any player that has moved outside of our boundaries, but established residency in the previous season is allowed to continue to play at Burbank National.  If this is the case, please contact us so we can complete the appropriate paperwork,

  • Out of Boundary Play

Little League International’s intention is for children to play within their home league unless extenuating circumstances or logistics make it too difficult to participate at the home league. There are other circumstances where you can play based on having previously played or having family that play, but all of these will need approval.

To locate your home league go to https://www.littleleague.org/play-little-league/league-finder/ Be sure to select baseball, softball, or challenger before searching your or your school address.

If you do not qualify under previous conditions and If you wish to play at Burbank National this spring you will need to submit a brief letter requesting an out of boundary waiver to [email protected].  You will need to explain the reasons you need to play at Burbank National instead of your home league. If our board votes to approve your waiver we then send it over to your home league.  If both leagues agree it will then be sent to our District 5 Administrator for consideration.

*Currently Little League International does not allow players participating on an out of bounds waiver to participate in post season play such as all stars or tournament teams. Please take this into consideration when making your decision and make sure you note your understanding of this rule in your letter, should you choose to request an out of bounds waiver.

(NOTE: Obtaining an out of bound waiver is a multi-step process. If you intend to request a waiver please do so without delay.  Your child cannot be drafted or assigned onto a team unless an approved waiver is in place.  If registered but denied approval, we will be happy to issue you a refund.)
